Grease Traps
Grease traps require regular emptying, and this must be carried out by a licensed operator. Duston Drainage are fully qualified and licensed by both the Environment Agency and The Local Borough Council to undertake this work throughout the Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough and Daventry areas, and our practices conform to the strict guidelines and rules set out by them and The Health and Safety Executive.
Grease traps are commonplace in most commercial premises, particularly restaurants, clubs, public houses and many food preparation factories. Their function is to prevent oils, fats and greases polluting our natural watercourses or clogging up the massive network of underground pipe work.
To separate and arrange the disposal and treatment of these substances is a legal requirement.
We offer free advice, including inspection of existing systems and recommendation of how these can be maintained, repaired or upgraded and will provide a free quote for all projects, including routine emptying, cleaning, repair or upgrading throughout the Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough and Daventry areas.
Liquid Waste Removal
We provide liquid waste removal services for the commercial sector, offering competitive rates and an excellent service. You can read more about our liquid waste removal service on our septic and sewage tank page here.
Pump Pits
Pump pits are generally used in two environments, where sewage requires pumping to counteract the force of gravity and where chemicals are used that cannot be released into the main sewerage system.
The most common usage is in residential and commercial developments that sit on land below the main sewage line height. In these situations the sewage needs pumping to move it along the pipeline (against the force of gravity) and reach the main system.
Such equipment is sited in a most hostile environment and therefore requires regular inspection, cleaning and maintenance otherwise it will rapidly break down, resulting in complete loss of sewage transmission and maybe, the most unpleasant flood condition that you can imagine?
At Duston Drainage we have been emptying and servicing pump pits and sewage tanks for nearly 40 years, and have subsequently built up a wealth of knowledge and a useful directory of contacts that are most essential in emergency situations.
